Ah, Life (April 14, 2005)

I debated whether or not to remove the "And Baby Makes Three" section of this page, but the fact is Thomas HAS made us a family of three and so I think he deserves to be represented here. Reading that section does make me sad (I see the Mother-to-be still full of hopes and dreams, and tragically unaware of the horror that would eventually unfold) but, sadly, that's life. Sometimes it turns out to be a horrific freak show that you can't believe you're starring in. But it's still my life and that dewey-eyed optimism I once had is part of its history. And so it shall remain.

Kristin

Kristin

I was born on a rainy Monday in the midst of the Vietnam war two weeks after the Beatles broke up. It's not a particularly auspicious beginning, but there it is.

I have since grown up (to a certain extent), graduated from university and started a writing career. Over the past 20 years I've worked as a writer in the corporate travel, advertising and design industries, and now quite happily work from home for a small roster of fabulous clients. Usually in my jammies and fuzzy slippers.

I'm married to the man of my dreams and we share our home with two cats, a lifetime supply of yarn, and a lot of bittersweet memories.

Sandy is a tall, gentle Art Director who works at a design and advertising agency in Toronto. He likes comic books, action figures and The Sopranos, and secretly longs to be Superman. He has a wry sense of humour, a knack for a well-timed one liner, and the ability to make a lot of odd noises (some intentional). He also makes me laugh until my stomach hurts.

And baby makes THREE!

And baby makes THREE!

We can hardly believe it, but we'll be parents on or around March 18, 2005! Baby Zita will be our little Easter bunny, arriving just in time for tulips and daffodils! I have another ultra sound coming up in the next few weeks and will be posting a new, clearer picture of "Peanut" then (the one you see here now was at 7 weeks, 2 days). HOPEFULLY we'll know what kind of a peanut is in there after this ultrasound...because I'm dying to know! But all I really care about is that he/she is healthy and has a long and happy life. I honestly don't have a preference -- girl or boy, I just want to hold my little Peanut in my arms!
